War. War never changes.
The Fair Folk waged war to gather slaves and wealth. The Shogunate built an empire from its lust for jade and territory. The Scarlet Empress shaped a battered realm into an economic superpower.
But war never changes.
In the Age of Sorrows, war was still waged over the resources that could be acquired. Only this time, the spoils of war were also its weapons: Prayers and Essence. For these resources, The Realm would invade Lookshy, the Deathlords would sack Thorns, and the Threshold would dissolve into quarreling, bickering nation-states, bent on controlling the last remaining resources on Earth.
Now, the world stands at a crossroads. For three years, the Scarlet Empress has been missing. The great Dynastic houses have drifted leaderless as they maneuver amongst themselves for the empty throne. After the disaster of Tepet’s campaign in the north, no house is willing to risk it’s military might outside of the Realm. Old threats, long controlled by the Wyld Hunt, have begun to spread.
Dangerous times breed great heroes. This Circle was part of that group that Exalted into the service of the Unconquered Sun. Gifted with powers over mortals and gods, thrown into a world that trembles at their very existence, they seek to restore that which is all but forgotten.
Life in Creation is about to change.
